This week we have visitors from Judson Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. Greg and Jacqueline are here to see Narnia Elementary School and plan for a summer English camp that’s to take place from July 11-15.
Sorry, these photos are no longer available.
Greg Volsko and Jacqueline Stern arrived last Friday. This is not Greg’s first trip to Slovakia. He’s been here as many as ten times to participate in the family English camps we held with the Nitra church plant up until 2006. After all those trips he’s formed some strong relationships with Slovaks including us and Edita, who is the primary organizer of our 2016 camp.
Ever since arriving Greg and Jacqueline have been busy, busy, busy. First we stopped in a village near Levice where Greg visited Edita’s family for some delicious homemade, cooked-over-the-fire Hungarian goulash. On Saturday, jet lag or no jet lag, they joined Rest Time Outdoor for a hike up Zvolen Mountain (or cable car ride, according to the condition of your knees). This gave them a chance to get to know families from our congregation and Narnia. Sunday was a full day with church and business meeting and ice cream in historic downtown Banská Bystrica.
This week has been non-stop meetings or joining in classes at Narnia to meet students and teachers. The photo above is from a meeting we had this morning to plan for our Summer English Day Camp that we plan to hold in 2016.
We’re looking forward to meeting some more of the lovely people at Judson Baptist in 12 short months.
