About 70% of the students at Narnia come from nominally Catholic or unchurched backgrounds. So this is definitely an outreach ministry of our local church. One way that we build bridges between the school and our congregation is through Rest Time Outdoor–once per month outdoor activities for families.

Meet Edita
Sure we have this elementary school as an outreach of our local church, but it’s not a given that we are able to build bridges between the congregation and the school. We think these bridges are important for helping people see the dynamic relationships with Christ in the people of our congregation. There’s nothing like seeing the love of Christ in the lives of real people as a witness to the gospel.
To make sure those bridges get built we have a special person employed at the school whose main job is doing just that. Meet Edita. Actually, you may know her. She spent a few years in the States and at least two of the churches that support us also helped Edita through the MA program at TEDS.
Edita’s job is to come up with ways to help us better build relationships with the kids and their families. One way to do that is by organizing summer English camps (coming up in 2016). Another way is through youth activities that involve kids from the school and kids from our congregation. And then, of course, there’s…
Rest Time Outdoor
Rest Time Outdoor is Saturday outdoor activities that Edita organizes about once per month. In the winter she and her husband Laci took us downhill and cross country skiing and this spring we’ve already been on a hike up a nearby mountain.
We have a good time as you can see from the gallery below:
