Winter crossed two continents for us this year with some great memories and ministry on both but now it’s time put away our winter album and break out the spring. Check it out on our gallery page or click through to this post.
We’ve introduced a little more variety into our spring photo gallery. Hiking still plays a big part. Since moving to Banská Bystrica, it’s been a tradition for us to kick off the hiking season with the Haja family on the Monday after Easter. Despite an early Easter, this year was no exception and we enjoyed a nice hike through a canyon in northern Slovakia. But along with those hiking photos we’ve got photos from a Roma congregation, preparation for summer ministries, a concert by Trinity College, and more.
We’ve finally gotten snow in Slovakia so it’s time to put up the winter gallery. Enjoy photos of new places we’ve discovered on our adventure walks around our property (more cliffs!), our congregation’s New Year’s celebration, and our trip to see Jana’s brother in Belgium (before this year we hadn’t seen them in almost 10 years, which means we met Oliver and Maxim for the first time this year).
About 70% of the students at Narnia come from nominally Catholic or unchurched backgrounds. So this is definitely an outreach ministry of our local church. One way that we build bridges between the school and our congregation is through Rest Time Outdoor–once per month outdoor activities for families. [Read more…]
Now that spring is over, we’ve started our summer photo gallery. So far, these photos are mostly of family while on home assignment. Max and his uncle Brad made a Mauser out of a 2×6, Max got to take a tour of the National Guard facility near us and, of course, we have some photos from fourth of July celebrations. [Read more…]
