Programs like English language musicals are key to the ministry of Narnia Elementary School because they help build bridges between the school and our local congregation. If kids or their families became believers, but didn’t get plugged in to the local church, their faith would likely wither. In this video Jana and Todd talk a little more about what the musicals are and why they’re important.
This is the time of year for musical performances at Narnia. Jana has six groups of kids that perform for parents during our Sunday services, for other schools, retirement homes, and even at competitions. This year one musical will be performing at a nation-wide competition.
Most importantly, the musicals help us build a bridge between our congregation and the families of kids from school.
Each of the musicals is performed at our church on a Sunday morning. Afterwards we have a potluck and that means a chance for families from our church to get to know families from Narnia. Just being in our church on Sunday to worship with us is an important way to introduce our congregation to them. Even better is when we can build relationships that help them see Christianity in the context of caring friendships.
