Life Extended
Jana has now joined the ranks of (famous) people who find it difficult to put a good thing to rest.
Jana’s original plan for Music Together at Trinity was to run her Music Together classes on campus for one year (June to May) and then call it quits. The idea was to gain some experience here in the States before our move to Slovakia. It all worked out very well, she learned a lot (especially about starting her own business), she recovered her costs for running the program (insurance, business registration, etc.), and it seems like the students enjoyed the classes. All in all a great success!
Unfortunately for us our stay in the States has been prolonged due to our lack of funds to return to Slovakia. But I guess there’s always a silver lining because Jana was able to continue teaching her Music Together classes over the summer and now into the fall. Fall classes start next Wednesday (September 15) and she has nearly filled all three sessions.
Interesting Fact
Speaking of famous–in the video below Jana is leading her class in the song “Hello Everybody!” This song is sung at the beginning of every Music Together class–so it’s sort of iconic among Music Together fans. Since the video was first posted to YouTube it has been viewed more than 800 times and about 50 times per week for the last month. That’s a lot! Ten times more than any of our other videos–and ten thousand times less than any Michael Jordan video.
