In the last post I filled you in on a big decision that’s in front of our little congregation. It has to do with purchasing property and buildings for Narnia Elementary School, which is an outreach ministry of our congregation. Today we had our business meeting and I’m encouraged by the results.
The Results Are In!
We’ve just gotten back from the meeting and, as for the results, the congregation voted unanimously to make an offer for the purchase of all or part of the campus. This is great news for two reasons. First the school can move forward with its ministry. Secondly, and more importantly, the whole congregation is on board with this ministry. That’s the most exciting news. The conversation as the meeting was not always peaceful but in the end every single person voted for at least some variation of an offer. In the past, the school has been a point of contention in our congregation and I’m hopeful that we can move on toward healing and greater unity.
Thank you for your prayers because we felt them during the meeting.
Moving Forward
Please keep praying for this ministry. We still have a lot ahead of us. We need to negotiate a favorable price with the city, and of course, we’ll then need to come up with the finances. These are definitely God sized plans so we’re going to need God sized help. There’s no way our little congregation of 70 can handle such a big project on its own.

Not really a user of Facebook so did not realize this could follow the earlier note prior to the meeting. Thanks for the update and now know how to pray for this God Sized project. We have often been told God likes us to think so big that it requires Him to make it a reality. Sounds like your church is doing just that. Praise God for faithfulness.

Thanks Carl! We really appreciate your prayers. When we took the vote yesterday I was amazed that every single person voted for one or another alternative for the purchase of the school and that no one ended up against. Even during the discussion you could tell that things started moving in that direction but the outcome was still surprising. I think God was working in people’s hearts.
