I got some great news in my inbox today. The editors of the Biblical Interpretation series at Brill have shown interest in my dissertation.
This is great news but it doesn’t yet mean they will publish it. The series editor has decided that my dissertation fits in the series and meets certain technical and quality criteria but now it gets sent for review. These blind reviewers can still choose not to publish or they can suggest changes that need to be made before publishing.
At this point, whatever happens is fine. Brill is the first publisher I’ve approached and they’re probably the most prestigious for my topic. So if my manuscript met the approval of their series editor and the reviewers reject it, I think there’s a pretty good chance another high quality publisher will take it. We’ll see.
I would appreciate your prayers on this point. Just like the Research Fellowship position, this is important for creating more ministry opportunities and can be a big help to the seminary.
